One Christmas night, young Clara is offered an inanimate puppet, a nutcracker.
In the midst of toy soldiers, rats and giant dolls, the world of childhood turns into ballet. Clara’s dreams and nightmares are carried away by Tchaikovsky’s bright and colorful score. Snowflakes, flowers and enchanted landscapes form the backdrop for a dazzling choreography. Guided by the wooden puppet turned Prince Charming, the young Clara confronts her desires and anxieties through an initiation story.
